Scottish Government’s Minister for Energy visits TRAC Oil & Gas Ltd’s Aberdeen facility to find out more about the challenges faced by the Oil & Gas supply chain
Fergus Ewing MSP, and Scottish Minister for Energy, Enterprise & Tourism, recently visited TRACs Aberdeen facilities on 28th August.
Mr Ewing met with TRAC’s Managing Director Daniel Hawthorn to discuss the Scottish Government’s recently launched Oil & Gas Strategy, and to find out more about the challenges faced by companies within the Oil & Gas supply chain. Daniel stated “Earlier this year, I attended the launch of the Scottish Governments Oil & Gas strategy for 2012 to 2020, and was very encouraged by the focus on long-term commitment to the sector. Mr Ewing was able to embellish on this, including the Government’s strive for a consistent and stable taxation regime aimed at encouraging enhanced recovery in Scotland’s mature fields and future exploration”.
After a walk-around the TRAC facilities and meeting with members of the team, Energy Minister Mr Ewing said
“It’s very encouraging to see first-hand a successful and growth-focused organisation meeting the challenges of the industry and creating employment and long-term opportunities for their staff”.
