The Giving Tree Appeal 2013

The Giving Tree Appeal 2013

TRAC has supported the Giving Tree, run by Instant Neighbour, for 6 years now.

The appeal gives Christmas gifts to children living in poverty. More than 6,000 gifts are received each year with ever increasing donations from Oil & Gas companies like TRAC.

In the past TRAC staff bought ‘secret santa’ presents for colleagues but they thought this money could be better spent by donating to the Giving Tree.

This year saw increased donations from TRAC and one from the company to match what was raised by staff.

A total of £885 went towards even more toys, games and gadgets than previous years!

TRAC in partnership with Trelleborg,  recently showcased Trelleborg’s unique ELASTOPIPE™  Flexible Piping System.

TRAC, an approved installation partner for Trelleborg’s ELASTOPIPE™ Flexible Piping System, was pleased to host an ELASTOPIPE™ Showcase at our Aberdeen facility in November, inviting customers and colleagues to view this unique product first hand.

Technical experts from Trelleborg were on hand to present the benefits of the corrosion free flexible piping system and it’s practical application in deluge systems, utility systems, open & closed drains, and chemical & hydrocarbon transportation.
Representatives from more than 20 companies attended the 2 day event and were given a practical demonstration of the rapid installation methods.

TRAC and Trelleborg have worked successfully together over 8 years expending 285,000 manhours installing more than 100km of ELASTOPIPE™ globally, and Trelleborg have recently taken office space within TRAC’s offices.

Tommy van Huuksloot, TRAC’s Project Manager for ELASTOPIPE™  stated,

“This was a great event that highlighted the benefits of ELASTOPIPE™ to both existing and potential users.  We were very pleased with the way our clients interacted with the technical guys during the demonstrations, I feel a lot was learned for all parties. Thanks to all those who attended the event and to my colleagues for all their hard work in  making it a success.  We aim to do similar events in Australia and Brasil in 2014”.

NATA accreditation for TRAC in Australia

TRAC Pty is delighted to announce that we have been successfully awarded NATA accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. In July we announced we had completed the audit, and since then we have been officially awarded the accreditation.

The NATA accreditation for 17025 is another key step as TRAC continues global growth and development plans. As well as holding UKAS ISO/IEC 17020 the NATA approval now allows us to work to recognised International and Australian standards and will open up more commercial opportunities locally.

The audit involved a technical and QMS assessment in which NATA carried out an extensive examination of TRAC processes, procedures, systems and documentation. Stuart Ley, Inspection Manager from TRAC’s headquarters in Aberdeen flew to assist with preparation. Stuart worked closely alongside Operations Coordinator, Daniel Lewis and TRAC’s Technical advisor Geoff Williams (both based in Perth) to prepare for the audit. Stuart commented on the success of the audit;

‘Successfully completing this audit demonstrates our commitment to the Australian market and shows that our existing systems are robust and yet again stand up to external review, examination and audit. We look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead and receiving our official NATA certification.’

Movember 2013

TRAC take part in the Movember Campaign for the 2nd year running.

November 2013 saw the TRAC Oil & Gas team take part, for a second year, in the Movember campaign. The Movember website explains ‘During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. With their “Mo’s” men raise vital funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health. As an independent global charity, Movember’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.’

In 2012 the TRACtashtic team raised £500. This year we beat the total raising £585 between the team. Thank you and well done to everyone who took part this year! All of the ‘Mo Bros’ were excellent.

The individual who won Best Tash 2013 from the TRAC team was Billy Noble who won with 57% of the votes (pictured below).

We would also like to thank all those who donated to the team.  The support has been fantastic and we look forward to 2014.

OTC Brasil 2013

TRAC was in Rio de Janeiro from 29th – 31st October to showcase their latest offering at OTC Brasil.

As part of our ongoing international development programme, TRAC exhibited at the recent OTC Brasil in Rio de Janeiro in October 2013. The three day event attracted more than 15,000 industry professionals, executives and experts from around the globe. There were 400 exhibitors including key service and operating companies in 9,000 sq.ft of exhibition space.

TRAC has a successful record of delivery in the region and was able to showcase current services and products. We were also pleased to confirm our intent to establish a presence in the region. The Rt Hon QC MP Kenneth Clarke in his official capacity as the Prime Minister’s International Trade Envoy was in attendance at the exhibition and met with TRAC representatives to discuss the local market and the challenges faced.

He stated:

“Following up on the Prime Minister’s visit to Brasil in 2012, I’m very pleased to see companies like TRAC setting out to take advantage of the huge opportunities within the region despite the challenging business conditions that they will encounter.
