TRAC O&G Ltd have been awarded the Chevron Inspection and Integrity Management Services contract for their UKCS assets. The contract is for a 3 year period with the option to extend a further 2 years, delivering potential revenues of up to £20M TRAC has a strong relationship with Chevron and have been supporting their assets over the past 13 years. A combination of experience, safety record and service delivery that achieve cost savings through innovative solutions has led to this award. Gregg Hector (Chevron Integrity Lead) said: The successful award of this contract follows a rigorous tender process in which Chevron clearly set out our expectations and deliverables. Danny Hawthorn (Managing Director) said: “A combination of experience, safety record and service delivery that achieve costs savings through innovative solutions has led to this award.  We’re delighted to secure this contract as Chevron has been an important customer to us for many years now. This has been achieved through the ongoing hard work and effort of our staff and our strong working relations with Chevron, and we very much look forward to continuing to support Chevron in their North Sea operations.  This award keeps us on track with our growth plans both here in the UK and in our overseas operations in Australia and Brazil and is great news during a period where the industry as a whole is experiencing very challenging times”. TRAC is a leading provider of rope access inspection, repair and maintenance services to the Oil & Gas industry with extensive experience of working across a range of offshore and onshore assets worldwide.

Supervisors Workshop 2016

We recently delivered one of our regular Supervisors Safety & Leadership Workshops. The course was invaluable given the current industry climate where service quality, consistency and competence are always important. Roles and responsibilities of supervisors were covered and technicians gave open feedback regarding what they expect from TRAC as an employer. Designed in-house, the course was specific to our supervisors needs and was delivered at our purpose built training facility. The course was presented by TRAC department heads. Guest speaker Les Linklater, Executive Director from Step Change in Safety, gave an articulate presentation on Safety and Leadership including the characteristics of a good leader. Topics the course covered were areas that supervisors deal with on a daily basis such as:

  • Supervising
  • Industry Overview
  • Logistics & Support
  • Dealing with Conflict
  • Risk Assessment
  • Business Development

It’s important that our teams and supervisors are aware of our core values. We aim to deliver Best in Class performance and the course was designed with this in mind, ensuring competence and staff development of trained supervisors. Attendees were of mixed trade, rope access and inspection competencies and it was our objective to continue our safe ethos and protect our enviable safety record. At the conclusion of the course, the supervisors successfully presented on the topics covered which demonstrated their understanding.

One of the supervisors commented on the course; “Learned something (a good few things) about outboard working and risk assessing ad-hoc (add on) scopes – what to cover and make relevant”. Planning for the next course has already commenced as part of our commitment to the personal development of our staff, we actively monitor and develop the competence of our staff and hold the Investors in People accreditation.

Long Service Awards

TRAC issues long service awards each year to staff in recognition of their achievements, commitment and loyalty to our business. We are proud of our staff retention rates and retaining extensive knowledge, skills and experience is key to moving us forward in the current market conditions and beyond. People have always been at the centre of TRAC and our values which include loyalty, achievement and personal development. Our Investors in People accreditation also acknowledges TRAC to be a positive and enjoyable place to work where we get the best performance from both our office and field staff.

Charities Update

We support a number of charities throughout the year and over the festive season TRAC staff raised more than £750 for charitable causes. The Giving Tree Our staff always enjoy donating gifts to The Giving Tree. This is the 8th year we have contributed to the appeal which is run by Instant Neighbour and supported by Chevron. In 2015, we saw generous donations with TRAC matching the total to buy lots of gifts! The Giving Tree delivers around 6,000 gifts to families in the North East who can’t afford presents for their children on Christmas day. We hope that these gifts helped put smiles on many faces!

Samaritans Purse Appeal Some of our staff filled shoe boxes with toys and gifts for the Samaritans Purse appeal which distributed more than 42,000 boxes to places like Mozambique. Movember In November, we raised an impressive £520 for the Movember men’s health campaign – well done to our participants who grew moustaches for this worthy cause! Transition Extreme Sponsorship We also became proud sponsors of Transition Extreme this year – a modern social enterprise and charity which uses urban sports to engage the local youth population.

Offshore Europe 2015

TRAC exhibited at Offshore Europe from 8-11 September 2015. We are always pleased to exhibit at one of the largest Oil & Gas events in the world, and have done so now for many years. At the show we met with many current and prospective clients, discussing our service capabilities. Although the focus was on North Sea Operations it was a good opportunity to talk about TRAC’s regional offices in Brasil and Australia. Our Services: Rope Access Engineering Support Inspection & Testing Remote Inspection Marine Class Survey & Repair Mechanical & Electrical Rigging & Lifting Fabric Maintenance Fire Protection Systems Training We shared recent news and developments, showcasing our latest innovations with demonstrations of Phased Array and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV).

Our ROV capabilities include the approved utilisation of Mini ROV’s to carry out water ballast tank inspection and thickness measurements to meet class requirements.

Despite current market conditions, the general feeling at the show was more optimistic than expected. We feel it was one of the most successful shows we have exhibited at as a company. Our Champagne Reception held on the Wednesday was once again well received by guests.
