TRAC Petróleo e Gás LTDA was pleased to exhibit at the recent Brasil Offshore 2015 exhibition in Macaé – the heart of Brasil’s Oil & Gas industry. We have exhibited at a number of events in Brasil since 2013 including OTC Brasil and Rio Oil & Gas. Last year we made a commitment to the Brasilian economy, setting up permanent office and training premises in Macaé with a workforce comprised of over 90% Brasilian citizens. Brasil Offshore 2015 was an excellent opportunity to celebrate the continued success of our established presence and operations in Brasil. We were pleased to share stand space with our partners EDRA and successfully met our wider objectives for the event. These included; continuing to raise awareness of TRAC in Brasil as a local service provider, sharing our latest news and developments, speaking to prospective and current clients. We also had the opportunity to showcase TRAC’s capabilities as a supplier delivering Best in Class performance achieving innovative, efficient and cost saving results. During the exhibition, we announced a recent contract award. TRAC will be working with Consórcio Integra Offshore to provide Rope Access, Inspection, Repair and Maintenance services to their end client Petrobras. This positive news along with the other contracts we hold place our Brasilian operations strongly, contributing significantly to TRAC’s global turnover figure.
TRAC has signed a pledge to take action as part of the IOSH championed ‘No Time to Lose’ campaign, working with the industry to raise awareness and beat occupational cancer. An estimated 86% of malignant melanoma cases in the UK are linked to UV radiation from the sun. The aim is to assist our Field Technicians with the issue of protection whilst exposed to the sun. Specific PPE with UV protection has been issued, risk assessments conducted and written heat management & action plans created. Awareness has been raised through our monthly safety campaigns, all as part of the measures to protect exposed skin – normally the neck area.
TRAC held an event demonstrating the latest NDT Inspection Technologies and Advancements on 3rd & 4th June 2015. Several key suppliers came to exhibit alongside TRAC, demonstrating the latest products, techniques and services, sharing expertise and discussing common industry issues and offering solutions. Presentations were delivered by each supplier, showing the principles behind the most up-to-date equipment and techniques available. TRAC has recently invested in Advanced Ultrasonics, Non-Intrusive Inspection and ROV Inspection capabilities, all of which were on display and demonstrated at the event. We will be continuing our commitment to innovation with any new products and services representing the cost savings and efficiencies that our clients are looking for. TRAC Operations Director, Gordon Cook comments;
“It was positive to see so many potential and existing customers come along to find out more about TRAC. This two day event focused on our NDT and Inspection capabilities, highlighting our current and future service developments. We now look forward to progressing enquiries received about these innovative services.”
Representatives from ATOs and AQBs got together recently for a weekend seminar to discuss and agree the training and certification processes proposed for the new scheme; Certification of Personnel for In-Service Inspection – Manual Ultrasonic Testing – Via the Modular Route. The weekend was a mix of information from the Oil & Gas Industry in Aberdeen relative to specific requirements for personnel coming into the Industry and a valuable input from the experienced examiners relative to certification requirements and standards to be applied. There was also time set aside for the practical application of manual ultrasonic techniques to relevant samples. This practical application was in accordance with guidelines proposed by the Industry. Participating companies and organisations included: British Institute of NDT, IMechE, Rigmar Training, SGS India, Lavender International, Bilfinger, TWI, ARL, Sonomatic, TRAC Oil & Gas and NDT Limited. The weekend was organised by Bill Brown, Technical Manager of TRAC Oil & Gas Ltd in conjunction with the British Institute of NDT. The event was sponsored by TRAC Oil & Gas Ltd and hosted by TWI at their training facility in Aberdeen. TWI, Rigmar Training and TRAC Oil & Gas all contributed samples and equipment to allow the practical sessions to be informative and relevant. The outcome was very positive with the representatives agreeing to support the new scheme.
TRAC was once again headline sponsor of the North of Scotland Open from 31st March to 5th April 2015. Our sponsorship of The North Of Scotland Open was an excellent opportunity to bring world class squash to the region, raising awareness of the sport in Aberdeen and Scotland as a whole. The aim is to provide a longer term focus for the growth and development of squash, benefiting the health and wellbeing of our employees and the local community. This is the second year we have sponsored the event and there has been an increase in high ranking competitors registering. Many top-100 players entered the event, with international visitors and competitors coming from New Zealand, Egypt, Europe, Asia and the UAE. The competition was exciting to watch with a final that saw Greg Lobban(Sco) beat Joel Hinds(Eng) 3-1 to win. Squash is a sport enjoyed by many of TRAC’s staff so it was a wonderful to see a high quality competition right on our doorstep. We are delighted to announce our commitment to sponsor the event for a further 3 years up to 2018. As part of this sponsorship package, we are contributing to the upgrade of facilities at the Aberdeen Squash & Racquetball Club where the tournament is held, starting with a refurbishment of the Exhibition Court.
